My First Night Out

Okay, so I actually wrote this the day after my first night out, but I never got round to typing it up, so this'll be quite brief.

I had my first night out on saturday the 25th. What I didn't realise, however, that it was Beth's first night out in Leeds (she lives in Wakefield) and Ben's first night out fullstop, which meant that 60% of us had no clue what we were doing (75% towards the end of the night when my brother disappeared to have fun with his 'friends').

All in all, I have to say it was so much fun. It entailed a heck lot more dancing than drinking; none of us even got drunk, which I have to say I'm glad of. I actually made a conscious effort not to get too drunk, I even stuck to drinking the dame thing all night (vodka and coke, in case you were wondering- you probably weren't).

We stayed out til around 3, although Beth went home at half one because she was working the next day. In an ice cream van. How cool is that?

When I eventually got home- after driving halfway home only to turn around and drive in the opposite direction to drop Lauren off where she actually wanted to go, and picking my brother up- I was greeted by a Mythbusters marathon, which I promptly switched over once everyone had gone to bed.

I dragged my not-even-drunk arse to bed at 5 AM- after watching an episode of Raising Hope- only to realise that it was already light outside and, since my curtains are pretty much transparent, it was as light in my room as it would've been at one in the afternoon. Miraculously, I had no trouble sleeping and 7 and a half hours later I woke up and wrote this blogpost).

My Birthday

So, it was my 18th birthday on tuesday and I didn't do anything on the day apart from go shopping. However, to make up for the boringness of my actual birthday, I went to the lake district with two of my best friends (Lauren and Beth) and my brother (Peter) on thursday and came back today (saturday). We stayed in a log cabin that was surprisingly modern and had a better TV than we have at home. It was also right by a ginormous lake and was pretty much surrounded by geese and ducks.

I don't really have much to say about what we did, but I had a lot of fun and it was great to get away. We just chilled on the thursday night and got very drunk– well, I got very drunk, I'm not sure about everyone else (I'm not as used to drinking alcohol). Then on friday we went swimming (in an indoor pool, not the lake) and chilled out some more.

Picture time! (In case you're not sure, I'm the one in the stripy top.)
